Windows Spotlight not working after Windows 10 22H2 update

Reset Windows Spotlight on Windows 10

If windows spotlight information, not showing lock screen won’t change images on windows 10. Here is Fallow simple workaround to clear the downloaded images and reset the settings to get the Windows Spotlight feature working again.

Disable Windows spotlight

1. Open Settings, using the keyboard shortcut Windows + I
2. Click on Personalization, then Lock screen.
3. Use the “Background” drop-down menu, and select the Picture or Slideshow.

Clear Spotlight assets

• Open File Explorer (Windows + E), switch to the View tab, and checkmark on Hiden items.
• Now Press Windows + R, type the following path and click ok.
• %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets.
• This will opens up at the location where all Windows Spotlight images are saved.
• Go to the Assets folder and then press Ctrl + A to select all files. Now delete them, And close everything.

Resetting Stoplight settings

1. Now press Windows + R, type the following path, then press the ok button.
2. %USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\Settings
3. Here look for the file named settings.dat and roaming.lock Rename them as settings.dat.bak and roaming.lock.bak.

Enable Windows spotlight

1. Now again, Open Settings, using the keyboard shortcut Windows + I
2. Click on Personalization, then Lock screen.
3. Use the “Background” drop-down menu, and select the Windows Spotlight option.
4. Restart windows and check the problem is resolved now.

Re-register Windows Spotlight

If the above option failed to fix the problem, Then open Powershell as admin.

Type the following command and press enter to execute the same.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager -allusers | foreach {Add-AppxPackage -register “$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml” -DisableDevelopmentMode}

After completely execute the command, restart your PC.

Windows Spotlight must start working now by showing a new picture on the lock screen.

Disable Proxy settings

1. Press Windows + S to launch the search bar. Search for “proxy” in it.
2. Press the option of “LAN settings” present at the end of the window.
3. Uncheck the option “Use a proxy server for your LAN” and then press OK to save the changes.
4. Now finally, check if your issue is solved or not.

Run System file checker

If the issue still persists, check the system files using the SFC utility that scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

1. Open Command Prompt as administrator
2. In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.
3. Let 100% complete the scanning process.
4. Exit the command prompt and restart windows.
