No sound on Google Chrome

Lets first restart the browser or entire Windows 10 computer

Check the latest chrome version installed on your PC.

Ensure that your computer’s sound is not on mute. If you find volume control on the web app, make sure that the sound is audible as well.

  • Open Volume mixer, by right click on the speaker icon on the system tray at the bottom right of your taskbar,
  • Your Chrome app should be listed there under the ‘Applications‘ section towards the right.
  • Make sure it isn’t muted or volume hasn’t been set to the lowest position.
  • Check if Chrome is able to playback sound.

Note: If you do not see the volume controller for Chrome, you should try playing audio from your browser.

Check if the audio is working properly on other Internet browsers like Firefox and Explorer. You can also double-check if there’s sound coming from desktop apps.

Here the solution worked for me:

  • Right, Click Speaker/headphones on the taskbar.
  • Open Sound Settings
  • Scroll down and click on App volume and device preferences
